You have no idea how FREAKIN excited I was to finally put this vision into action! Nik and Marcus were the absolute PERFECT fit for the session! We were originally going to rent a studio to create the vision. Unfortunately it was booked for the time we needed. Nik mentioned to me why not at their house? Boy was I so happy she said that! Because turns out, they were in middle of renovations! This turned out to be perfect! They had recently ripped out carpets, sanded down to the original hardwood flooring that was absolutely STUNNING.
This session became a two part session which I will share the rest in a whole another blog soon! When I arrived, we chatted about location idea of where to set up and do the session. I could not stop staring at the corner in their living room, between the two big beautiful side windows and the window door behind them the light was absolutely stunning. The three of us moved everything onto the other side of the room and got down to work! We put some newspapers down, propped a ladder up and threw some music on! But just wait there’s more!
What better way to do a fun session with pizza?! Sharing pizza together on a lazy Sunday is one of the best! Their session was definitely a TRUE LOVE session. The way Marcus would look at Nikki was enough to give me butterflies.
Prior to this session, I have been wanting to change things up a bit. I normally take a lot of in home photos with my personal family. Documenting real moments at home with my son. It’s been on my mind to start taking couples and family sessions to more of documenting, instead of finding a location and capturing photos. Instead getting to know them more on a personal level, to customize their session to their personality. This in home session really brought out documenting Marcus and Nikki in their own element. Being together, enjoying pizza and just being silly.
