YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE THE PERFECT HOME

When I think of doing an in-home session with my own family, my mind immediately jumps to, I need to clean, my dogs are going to be so loud and constantly bark this entire session, my house doesn't fit the "'perfect home" feels & then I put it all in back of my mind.

HOME IS WHERE THE MEMORIES ARE

The other day in my torn apart bathroom, my son was laughing so hard because my husband would scream in the shower every time he shut the light off on him. At that moment I thought, could this be a memory of his childhood as he is so close to becoming 10 years old. And then we were playing with our cat Eleanor who loved the toys she received for Christmas. Is this how he'll remember his childhood?

THESE ARE THE MOMENTS

I realized that in those moments it wasn't the pile of hockey gear sitting on my couch, or the dog hair that clumped in the corner of my hardwood flooring. It was those things that were stopping me from wanting to capture these important moments & preserve them for him and for us!

LET'S BE HONEST

You can tell yourself a lot more reasons why you shouldn't book a photoshoot than why you should.

But the reason to book outweigh the reasons you shouldn't every time

Capturing those memories wins every time.

In home sessions are SO much more memorable, because they are nostalgic, authentic, and emotional than outdoor sessions.

Why? Because most of your memories, traditions & connections happen within the 4 walls you call home.

HERE'S A LITTLE SECRET...

Your photographer doesn't care if your house is messy, so is ours. It's okay to throw stuff in a corner instead of cleaning, we won't capture that in the photos. We are not focused on the aesthetic of your home, we are focused on the emotion & the connection within it. Don't let the little things deter you from capturing those important memories.

SO, IF YOU FIND YOURSELF THINKING

I want to remember these times in my life, I want to be able to have these photos to look back on 10 years from now, 30 years from now. I want to capture that memory for my children, not the one behind the camera capturing it for them. Then it maybe time to book a shoot.
